The one with the slow readers update.

the fault in our stars

The Slow Readers Book Club is excited to announce the next book selections! I'm going to paste in a bit our newsletter written by Carly.

The Books:

"For non-fiction, we chose Jenny Lawson's Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir. Jenny, AKA The Bloggess writes a hilariously personal book which you won't be able to put down. Follow Jenny through the laugh out loud (and possibly insane) stories of her rural upbringing to raising her own family in Texas. Jenny brings her experiences to life with her extremely witty writing style that makes you feel like you're catching up with a close friend."

"For fiction, we chose John Green's fourth novel - The Fault in Our Stars. This is a story of 16-year-old Hazel Grace who happens has been diagnosed with Stage IV Thyroid Cancer. While at a Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel meets Augustus Waters, who is in remission and changes her life forever. A beautifully written love story that reminds us of the complexities of teenaged relationships, illness, and the thin line between life and death."

You all know how much I loved The Fault in Our Stars. When I was featured in Dani's Literate & Stylish series, I even chose this book as a recent favorite. To read that post click here.

  1. I loved The Fault in Our Stars! I love how John Green writes books that are sad but funny at the same time.

And I've been reading The Bloggess for a while now, and can't wait to take her book out from the library! :)
