The one where I go to Kentucky (Part 1)

On the spur of the moment, I decided to tagalong with my family on their short visit to my grandparents' home in Kentucky.

I love that my family doesn't think of travel as a race to get somewhere. We make lots of stops, most usually at Cracker Barrel. ;)

My grandparents' home is really lovely. A lot of natural light filters through the windows, and they maintain a gorgeous garden out back.

They live on a golf course, so Summer (who is getting ready to take her driver's test - What?!) spent most of the weekend zipping about in their golf cart.

My grandmother gave me her mother's smoky quartz cocktail ring. I'm in love. Not only is it gorgeous, but it's fun having a statement piece with a story behind it. :)

Pretty sure my parents are the most adorable ever. We laughed so much, and they were good sports about all the pictures.

And then Summer found a pair of sunglasses on the side of the road that matched her sweatshirt and the weekend was deemed a success. ;)

Check back Friday for some more pictures + an outfit post that Summer and my mom helped me out with.

Aaaaaand...I'm happy to announce the Birchbox giveaway winner!

So excited for you to try out Birchbox, Becky! I will be emailing you later today. :)

That is all.

  1. I feel like Cracker Barrel is a necessary stop for all road trips. You must have breakfast food and play that triangle game with the golf tees.

As to your pictures - fabulous as always, and that ring is awesome! Also, is it weird that I think driving a golf cart is a lot more fun than driving a car?

& Cracker Barrel - YES! We don't have them where I live, so we always stop by one when we're on vacations!

  16. Oh my word! You're in my hometown!!! That's so weird. I just moved away from there to North Carolina 4 months ago.

I'm pretty excited to see the rest of this post and see where you went & what you thought about it. Did your parents grow up there or just your grandparents? If your family has been around there awhile then chances are I know them. Crazy.
