The one with the shoes.

Shoes

This past weekend I tried a new-to-me coffee shop and fell in love. Shoes Cups and Cork Club is located in Old Town Leesburg, across from the Court House, in a building that used to be a shoe-repair store (hence the "shoes" in the name). I loved that they tipped their cap to their history by keeping shoes in the decor...

Their fair-trade coffee was delicious, and it was fun to sit around playing cards and watching the various customers come through.

If any of my local readers would like to try it - this is the weekend. Guess what starts this Thursday? Farm-to-Fork!

Farm to Fork no

Not only is Shoes participating, but a bunch of my favorite restaurants, including Market Salamander and Red Fox Inn.

If you have a chance you should definitely try to get out and support our local farms and wineries.

Now to anyone, no matter where you live, that loves food and entertaining - have you fallen in love with Kinfolk yet? I've seen a lot of buzz about it on Twitter, but wanted to make sure it got a shout-out from me as well.

The recently released first issue is stunning, filled with thoughts on entertaining and food. It's definitely worth your time to take a look. Click here to view the online magazine. (If they print more, I will definitely be ordering it for my coffee table.)

I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. I feel like I'm coming down with a little summer cold, so I'm off to make some tea.

That is all.

  1. Thanks for the information on Farm to Fork - I am always looking for things for my family to do on the weekends. If it is not so terribly hot, I think we will go. Hope you feel better. I swear by Yogi throat health tea (put some honey in it!).
