The one where I go to Volt.

About a month ago Jeremy told me to keep Sunday, the 26th free of plans for a special surprise. Want to know the hint he gave me?

"Gaussian Sphere"

((Yes, my thoughts exactly. That's what I get for marrying an engineer.))

I'll save you the trouble of googling it. This is Jeremy's thought pattern - A Gaussian Sphere is a surface which contains an electrical charge. This charge leads to an electrical potential between two points. Electrical potential is measured in volts.

((My attention span is so short that I had to have Jer come over & type those last three sentences.))

Science aside - VOLT - as in Voltaggio, as in the Top Chef Voltaggio brothers, as in Bryan Voltaggio's restaurant.

bacon donuts

The food was ridiculously good, but I have to say the highlight of the day was seeing Bryan take out the trash. ;)

Ash and Jer

The restaurant is located in Frederick, MD, which I had never been to before. It is a very cute town, and I think we will be back.

Jer pretty much summed up the day on the ride back -

"Let's totally be foodies."

That is all.

  1. Looks delicious, and the town looks pretty too! I think being a foodie would be fun, because it's your 'thing' to go and eat nice food. I just like to eat...

  2. Hahaha can't say I ever would caught on to that hint, but what a great surprise! <3 You both look lovely!

  3. AH! That looks CRAZY delicious and INSANELY beautiful!

  4. You should be a food photographer! You managed to make that food look even tastier than I'm sure it already was!

  5. Okay Jeremy is SO CUTE. I never would have gotten that hint.

  6. AHH so jealous! I love Top Chef and was hoping for Bryan to win over his brother (I go for humble over cocky boys any day). It's so easy to be a foodie in DC and the surrounding areas. I think we're getting a lot more credibility as a foodie town. Have you been to Zaytinya? That's my favorite restaurant of the moment... but there are still so many other restaurants on my list of "must try."

Speaking of Top Chef, I met Spike Mendelsohn last month up at our local neighborhood bar. Have you been to Good Stuff or We the Pizza yet? Delish!

  7. I almost cannot bring myself to comment on this. I am too jealous. IS THAT A BACON DOUGHNUT?!

  8. You two are the cutest couple and you do such fun things! I am jeal. In a good way. : )

  9. The food looks amazing! I love seeing top chef contestants having success post the show. Spike has a couple of restaurants in Capital Hill, DC.

Also I love his hint, very clever!

  10. OH MY!! As A self-proclaimed foodie myself,I am trying to think of how I can save enough money to visit places like these! haha! Food is my mail goal when traveling! Looks like you struck gold with this one!

    Have a great weekend Ashley!

  11. are those donuts with bacon?! oh my goodness. all of the food looks fabulous. and frederick, md looks adorable!

  12. the food looks so so yummy and frederick is so cute! love your photos :)

  14. Looks SO GOOD. And you two are such a cute couple. :)
