Happy Monday, Everyone!
Jer and I woke up super early (as in 3:30 am!) Sunday morning to make it down to the National Cherry Blossom Festival in DC before all the crowds arrived.
I was a little out of place in my flowery dress among the sea of "serious" photographers with their multiple tripods and khaki vests, but we had a wonderful time. You definitely don't need a lot of fancy equipment to really enjoy photography. Want to hear a secret? When I pulled out my Instax, I got lots of curious looks and questions from the professionals. :)
If you are interested in the outfit I wore, check back Wednesday. (I was going to add the photos to this post, but it was getting pretty image heavy - even for me!)
After we made it around the Tidal Basin and I had snapped enough photos to be content, we headed back to our car. Unfortunately we were blocked in by the Cherry Blossom Ten Miler. Jer, country boy that he is, started freaking out.
With the help of a fellow "prisoner," Jer was able to open a back gate, pop a curb, and land on an on-ramp to 395. (This all happened with the background music of my screams.) Pretty sure Jer is feeling like Chuck Norris today. ;)
Hope you all enjoy the photos. (Find the entire VA is for Lovers series here.)
How was your weekend?
That is all.
PS - If I owe you an email, I promise that it is coming! Life has been full of changes lately (mostly good), but my correspondence has taken a backseat. Don't think I've forgotten about you. :)
